Once one of the world's largest live lobster factory, Maritime Packers Factory resided on the south shoreline of the harbour. Remnants of factory still exist and a small footprint of the wharves creates a romantic ruin landscape with small jagged edges of buried pilons protruding from the sand in various locations. Still firmly placed on the edge of the condominium lawns, a small concrete pad that housed one of the warehouses that has now moved up the shoreline reminds those taking a stroll on the sandy beach of the drastic change in the harbour makeup and currents in recent years.
